The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Jack Is Overruled as Victor Faces Losing Newman Enterprises

The Young and The Restless: Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman)

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) thought he held a royal flush. There was no bluff in having Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) and offering him in trade for the artificial intelligence program.

But Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) was sniping at Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) at the Genoa City Athletic Club. Fans wondered, based on Arabesque having been decimated by Victor, if Cane was still the owner of that soothing setting that was gifted back to the fans during Y&R’s fiftieth anniversary season.

Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) was wearing his poker face before he learned that the AI weapon had a poison pill implanted inside. But instead of Phyllis being the saboteur, Cane’s reveal confirmed that he was the axe man.

Kudos To Cane Ashby For Being Thorough

This edition of Cane is vastly different than the one Daniel Goddard (Cane) initiated and played exceedingly well for many years. Flynn is also a fine actor and a daytime veteran, with the scripts he’s been given presenting a cutthroat who rivals the great Victor Newman.

Jack recently told Cane not to underestimate what they could do together. His offer at that point in the plot was to team up and take down their nemesis.

Little did the head of Jabot know that Cane held the ability to apparently wreck Newman Enterprises. To think that his AI program developers were instructed to or created a kill switch is remarkable.

Jabot Survives Another Day In Genoa City

Jack, Diane Abbott (Susan Walters), Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) feared their company was going to be overtaken. They rightly believed that Victor was going to crush Jabot because he wanted to teach Jack a lesson.

It was natural for Jack to fortify the company his father founded decades ago. The family’s cosmetics business wasn’t going to be stolen or dissolved because of the Dark Knight’s irrational vendetta. But taking Jabot offline, as Jack termed it, risked the company’s future.

Nevertheless, it had to be done, and Jack did it. Kyle’s instinct led to the Jabot security team obtaining Matt and seemingly gaining the leverage it needed to neutralize Victor. However, Cane’s most unexpected puts the Midwestern heat on Victor and seems to leave Jabot in the clear.

Victor Newman Facing Dramatic Turnabout

Victor, more than anyone, including Matt, hates to lose. Braeden’s character is far more dangerous than the one Howarth is playing to the hilt.

Cane is someone Victor grew to quickly despise. Yet, he made a mistake in underestimating the former Aristotle Dumas.

If Cane’s plan works, Victor’s life’s work will be evaporated in much the same way that the so-called Great Man collapsed the company that the late Colin Atkinson (Tristan Rogers) helped his son build in a handful of years. But turnabout is fair play in daytime in what has become an all-encompassing storyline that involves nearly every character on the show.

  1. […] Cane now sees Phyllis as understanding him. He also appreciates that she gave Victor the tool of what could be his destruction. It’s fair to wonder if Flynn’s character anticipated Phyllis might do what she did, though that hasn’t been expressed in dialogue or in Cane’s private thoughts that fans are sometimes privy to. […]
