The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Matt Tries to Outsmart Cane, But the Chase Is Far From Over

The Young and The Restless: Matt Clark (Roger Howarth)

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) took a different track.

Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) tasked him to get close to Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn). That effort is proceeding, whether Flynn’s character realizes it or not.

Matt told Cane that he grew up in Kansas. That was a good lie because Cane will likely be unable to disprove Matt’s claimed friendship with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), having worked on Hope Wilson’s (Signy Coleman) farm.

Horse wrangling is Matt’s supposed game. That’s what he’s doing at the Ranch, with Cane’s eyebrows raised above his sky blue eyes.

But behind his pupils, which Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) is again taken by, Cane smells the aroma of the farmhouse.

The Phyllis Summers’ Angle Adds To Intrigue

Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) connection to Matt only further increases Cane’s curiosity. She is not a friend but has somehow become fond of the man who is said to be a Newman family friend.

Stafford’s character finds Matt to be enchanting. They might be kindred spirits, and he could be her next romantic entanglement, with viewers sensing they could shine like a supernova before going dark fast.

However, this pairing is just getting started and plays off both actors’ time on General Hospital. So, the Genoa City, Wisconsin, alter egos are more likely than not to become a couple.

Nick Newman Agrees With His Father

Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) has to focus on his addiction recovery efforts. That’s why Noah Newman (Lucas Adams) doesn’t want his dad to become involved with Matt to any great degree.

The Young and The Restless: Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn).

Noah understands that his grandfather has made a deal with Matt and is using him to try to undermine Cane. Adams’ character told Nick that Victor is capable of multitasking and can handle Matt on his own.

Nick’s approval of his father’s plan to work with Matt means that he doesn’t plan to keep tabs on his former rival.

However, drama has a way of being unmanageable, which could force Nick to reenter this scenario, and that could hinder his efforts to regain personal stability.

Cane Ashby Uses Chancellor To Attack Newman Enterprises?

Cane doesn’t have to go after the Newmans personally. He could use Chancellor to vent his anger at Victor for having destroyed Arabesque and then given its remnants to Phyllis.

Matt should be aware that Cane could attempt to reverse the dynamic and use him as a weapon against the Newmans. As Nick fears, Matt could be pulling a trick, or if not, could revert to his old ways at any point.

So, the idea of Matt eventually joining Cane, or if not that, then not warning Victor about intended revenge, is plausible. But Phyllis’ involvement with Matt will probably prove to be a pivotal aspect of whatever becomes the final result for all involved.
