The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Victor’s Trouble Deepens as Phyllis and Matt Gain Power

The Young and the Restless: Victor Newman (Eric Braeden)

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) has been struggling, with proof of that reality evident within the family he created.

Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) isn’t by his side, and Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) and Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) lives are in danger.

Despite what she thinks, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) stealing Newman Enterprises isn’t digestible. But it’s not for the cliched reasons she’s been telling anyone who crosses her path.

The idea of the great and powerful Christian Miller, who rebranded himself as a victorious new man decades ago, losing his company in this manner, is preposterous. But fans can reasonably argue whether it’s impossible to suspend disbelief and allow the story to flow.

Self-Appointed Experts On Artificial Intelligence

It’s easy to believe that two people would have a contentious relationship. That’s an element of human relationships that countless viewers have experienced. So, Victor and Nikki’s on-again, off-again marriage is understood.

Competition is also part of the business world. So, it’s easy to accept that someone like Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) would take a powerful new computer-based toy and cause unanticipated disruption.

History is replete with people who were at the top and have fallen. But this is Genoa City, Wisconsin.

So, Victor’s throne was stolen not by a recast Cane using an emergent technology like artificial intelligence, that numerous people fear and or have a ridiculous, instant self-proclaimed expertise about. Instead, Phyllis stole the AI program from Cane and then used it to take over Newman Enterprises, and Victor had no legal options to stop her.

The Young and The Restless: Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Matt Clark (Roger Howarth)

Living Recklessly In Las Vegas, Nevada

How many people go to Las Vegas, Nevada, in pursuit of doing good versus pursuing reckless self-interests?

The above question would be chided by those in GC who rebuke any questioning of their self-absorbed efforts, like Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow). Similar to his father, Morrow’s character has a stubborn streak that has often left him open to attacks.

Going to Vegas, believing that he was going to end Matt Clark (Roger Howarth), was irrational. Asking viewers to believe that no one in Nick’s world can determine that he is in the throes of addiction is a real stretch.

Additionally, Victor’s support of Adam backing up Nick’s pursuit of Matt was short-sighted. They need an army to combat a villain whose proven to be invincible dating back to the 1990s. All factors referenced have put Nick and Adam in deep danger.

Phyllis Summers And Matt Clark Can’t Win?

An easy prediction has Phyllis losing power. Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) just joined the chorus of characters who feel certain that it happens. She also added that the current head of Summers Conglomerate will find herself worse off after that happens.

Matt can’t possibly cause Nick to overdose and possibly implicate Adam in that outcome or negatively impact Victor’s youngest son in some other bizarre manner. No, Howarth appears to have signed on for a short stint that ends badly for Matt.

Applying the adjective strange to Phyllis’ storyline would be apt. Matt’s latest comeback is fantastical. But this is daytime. So, as long as these wild tales include compelling climaxes and produce acceptable results, all will be right in this soap world.
