The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Daniel Agrees To Cane’s Kidnapping Ruse? – Phyllis Wields Illegally Obtained Power

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) has been opposed to his mother’s connection to Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) since the beginning. But all bets are off the daytime table now that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) has stunningly stolen Newman Enterprises from Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) by literally knocking out Cane.
The sight of seeing Phyllis render Cane unconscious, through the use of chloroform, was so soapy. Fans may have wondered where Stafford’s character happened upon that potent silencer. She either obtained it underground or stole it from Genoa City Memorial Hospital.
Cane realizes that he made a critical mistake in recruiting Phyllis to work for him at Arabesque. But the bigger blunder, and the one that cost his second-chance plan, was becoming involved with her personally.
Lily Winters Was Fed Up And Made A Decision
Victor is ever-aware of what the people in GC, where he was the de facto mayor since Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) died in 2013, are doing. So, he knew that Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) was open to his ruse.
Conspiring with Lily to make Cane believe she and the twins are being held hostage was a brilliant, retaliatory plot. They would have pulled it off because Cane ordered his minions to destroy the artificial intelligence tool and spoke with Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan).
Cane told Amanda to create paperwork that gave control of Newman Enterprises to Victor. Morgan’s character wasn’t seen or heard during that call, but Cane’s reaction allowed the audience to know that she was stunned by the assigned task.

However, it appears that the order can’t be carried out because of Phyllis’ incredible actions.
Phyllis Summers Goes Way Over The Line
Knocking Cane out and then giving Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) Chancellor and Newman Media were very bold moves. The audience is right to wonder if Victor will be able to reconstitute his entire company when Phyllis is eventually dethroned.
Yet, Phyllis can’t be underestimated. While it’s likely that she won’t forever stand atop the Newman Enterprises empire, that she’ll probably rename after herself, this run could go longer than expected.
Was it Phyllis’ plan to stab Cane in the back from the jump?
Maybe. But it also feels like she’s freestyling based on developing circumstances.
Daniel Romalotti Plays Along To Force His Mother’s Hand?
Cane needs help, and the only two people whom he thought were on his side have betrayed his trust. Billy isn’t his main concern because Phyllis stole everything.
So, a scenario where Cane asks Daniel to play along with him makes sense. It would be ironic if a parallel storyline develops where Daniel pretends to be taken hostage by Cane as a way to force Phyllis’ hand.
Phyllis won’t listen to reason, and Cane has no leverage. But if Phyllis believes Daniel’s in danger, she will do what he demands. That would match Cane acceding to Victor’s ultimatum, which was issued with the pretense of Lily and the twins being held hostage by the Moustache.
