Is General Hospital Saying Goodbye To Anna Devane
General Hospital spoilers say viewers might have seen the last of one of their favorite leading ladies. Anna Devane has been in France for months now, but Finola Hughes has still appeared on the soap sporadically in the mental hospital.
Imagine viewers’ shock on Friday 13 when the closing General Hospital credits removed Anna Devane from the show’s cast. Does that mean Anna is gone for good?
GH Spoilers: Anna’s Friends And Family Have Given Up
This month Anna Devane’s granddaughter Emma Scorpio traveled to France to visit her in the mental institution where she was being held.
Emma thought that she could get through to her Grandma and bring her back to Port Charles. But, once she spent time with Anna she realized she was seriously sick and needed to be with the doctors that had been caring for her.
Emma’s grandma was incoherent and not making any sense, she came home empty-handed last week and filled Gio in on the heartbreaking news.
Emma and Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) seem to have given up on their mission to bring the WSB agent home, and have accepted the fact that she should be in a mental institution.
Anna’s friends an family seem to have accepted the fact she isn’t coming back any time soon. In fact, Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) just cornered Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and asked him to replace Anna as commissioner.
If no one is going looking for Anna anymore or bringing her back to Port Charles, it makes sense that the actress is off the credits.

Finola Hughes has been a member of the General Hospital cast since 1985 and Anna Devane is connected to almost every character on the show some way or another. It’s hard to imagine Port Charles without Anna as Police Commissioner.
In fact, Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) just cornered Dante Falconerri (Dominic Zamprogna) and asked him to replace Anna as commissioner.
Over the years Hughes has gone on hiatus and taken a much-needed vacation several times. The writers could have just wrote the character off the screen because the actress is taking time off. Do you think that Anna Devane is REALLY gone?
