General Hospital Spoilers: What Happened to Nathan? Missing Years, an Exhumed Grave, & a Chilling Theory

General Hospital spoilers and updates tease a reason for Nathan West’s (Ryan Paevey) missing years; now that we know his coffin was empty, could he have been in stasis?
This would have been very similar to the state that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) was in when Robin Scorpio-Drake (Kimberly McCullough) found him in a lab, thinking he was Jason Morgan (Steve Burton).
Stasis Is Alive, But Yet Not Alive-Kept Going By Machines
When someone’s in stasis, they’re alive, but yet not alive, kept going by machines, yet different than someone in a coma on life support.
It usually means they’ve been resurrected, but “kept on ice” until they’re brought out of it-like a state of suspended animation. The person kept in stasis, like someone who’s brain-dead, isn’t conscious of what’s going on around them.
So that would explain Nathan’s remembering up to the point he originally died, but nothing for the seven years of his absence.
At some point, probably very soon after Nathan was buried in his coffin, someone would have had to remove him from it and immediately start resurrection procedures.
That Would Be Something Else Nathan Would Have In Common With Lulu Spencer
Being in stasis, although for a much longer time, would be something else Nathan would have in common with Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening).
Around twelve or so years ago, Lulu had been kidnapped by the Cassadines and put in stasis by Stavros Cassadine (Robert Kelker-Kelly) who called her his “Ice Princess!”

This was also when her egg was extracted and combined with Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) sperm to create Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke).
Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) and her mother Laura Collins, (Genie Francis) along with Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) rescued her.
But Lulu went through a lot on her way to healing, and remembering who she was and remembering her life-again, similar to Nathan’s experience.
Nathan Being In Stasis And Brought Back At A Specific Time Makes A Lot Of Sense
Nathan being in stasis and brought back at a specific time makes a lot of sense-although there is still the period when he was coming to Port Charles that he doesn’t remember either.
There is a slight possibility that he could have remembered who he was and escaped a captor, which would explain why he was driving to Port Charles.
Being in stasis explains why he doesn’t remember that past seven years, and as far as when he was in the wreck, could have also caused some amnesia.
The big question that needs to be answered, and is even more important than what happened during those seven years, is who is responsible? Who removed him from the coffin and was holding him, possibly captive, for all those years?
