The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Newman’s Need To Wrap It Up – Matt Is Too Much

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that the Newman family’s mistake with Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) could prove deadly. Rather than have his security team escort Howarth’s nefarious character to the police station, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) allowed his oldest son to go rogue.
Victor’s judgment has been continually questioned by those closest to him in recent weeks. But Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), other family members, and Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc) were commenting on the Moustache’s fixation on punishing Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).
Everyone assumed Victor would handle the threat to the Newman family seriously. Instead, he allowed Nick to put himself in a needlessly dangerous scenario. However, devoted viewers also recognize that in doing so, this storyline is being stretched.
What Was Nick Newman Going To Do?
It’s fair to wonder if Nick was going to kill Matt directly or somehow have his death result, similar to Jordan Howard’s (Colleen Zenk). That true threat also tortured the Newman clan for decades. But the Newmans didn’t know it because Jordan concealed Claire Newman’s (Hayley Erin) existence from them.
Matt became a foe in the mid-1990s when he attacked Sharon Collins (Sharon Case), who later became Nick’s girlfriend, his eventual wife, and the mother of two of his children. Of course, Matt sought revenge against their son, Noah Newman (Lucas Adams), after orchestrating his meeting with Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun).
It’s reasonable to believe that Victor wanted Nick to be the one to turn Matt in. But knowing that Matt faked his death should have caused both men to be far more cautious. They weren’t, and the car crash happened.

Victor Newman Is Distracted By Grudge
Jack didn’t almost kill Nikki in the Genoa City Athletic Club. But don’t tell Victor that.
He remains convinced that Jack’s reckless use of an illegal substance wasn’t an act of desperation, intended to shock Nikki out of her alcohol use that Jordan created. Victor believes Nikki could have died, even though her shaken state sobered her up to the point that she called the paramedics.
Jack was the one to force Nikki away from booze, which is what truly got to Victor. His ego couldn’t take it, and so, harboring revenge, he obtained a weapon that might destroy Jabot.
His grudge and the connected artificial intelligence program have taken hold of Victor’s senses. Clearly, that state of mind also clouded his better judgment regarding how Matt should be handled.
Smart To Track Matt Clark With A Drone
Kudos to Victor and Nick for using another advanced digital tool, a drone. That was smart, as it kept track of Matt and allowed them to save Sienna.
Having his security team capture Annie Stewart (Catherine Kresge) and Matt appeared to create this storyline’s climax. But no such luck was for the audience.
Instead, Matt was zip-tied in the backseat of Nick’s car, got his arms in front of him, and put a choke hold on his enemy. The car crash followed, and Matt was somehow in better shape than Nick and fled.
Hopefully, a believable conclusion is coming. The great actors in this tale deserve a fitting ending that soon satisfies the audience.
