General Hospital’s Maurice Benard Shares How He Preps For Sonny’s Scenes

General Hospital spoilers indicate that Sonny Corinthos has had some pretty intense scenes as of late.

Between his need to protect Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) from going to prison and his dramatic, yet flirtatious, banter with Acting District Attorney, Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor), the mob boss has had plenty of highs and lows in recent weeks.

Benard hopped on Instagram bright and early Thursday, January 22, and uploaded a video from his dressing room. The reel shows the actor reading a script while dancing along to the song “Daydream” by The Lovin’ Spoons, a classic tune released in 1966.

The actor breaks into a cute freestyling dance, looking a little like a salsa and other cool moves, mid-video. The caption on Benard’s IG post read, “I always like learning my lines with music. I like the connection. @generalhospitalabc”

Sonny Corinthos’s Drama

General Hospital spoilers note that Sonny has his plate full in the land of Port Charles. In addition to Michael’s chaos, the mob boss is desperately trying to bring his rival, Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota), down.

With that said, Sidwell has been one step ahead of Sonny this entire time, and even the mob boss’s friend, Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis), has gotten caught in the crosshairs of this organized crime war. Still, GH viewers should never count Sonny or Laura out of this game, as the two are sure to get the better of Sidwell, eventually!

The bigger question General Hospital fans have is, when will Sonny get a bonefide romance? He’s been dancing alone for quite a while now, and it would be nice to see the mob boss in a love story at some point, soon.

Will ADA Turner become more than just a “friend”? She’s gunning to bring down Sonny and his organization, and doesn’t have the best of intentions, so only time will tell.
