Dr. Jen Arnold Slams New Hepatitis B Vaccine Guidelines

The Little Couple alum, Jen Arnold is so much more than a former TLC star; she’s a highly respected doctor who worked with children for decades. This week, she spoke to her 1.2 million fans on social media, raising concerns about changes to the hepatitis B vaccination in newborns. Read on for her take on it.
Very Much Against The Changes
From previous posts by the mom of Will and Zoey Klein, TLC fans know that she’s no fan of Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Well, the news arrived that the CDC voted to no longer recommend the hepatitis B vaccine for all children at birth. Rather, they recommend it only if the mother tested positive for it.

It’s an important thing to think about. And as a doctor, Jen Arnold quickly took to her Instagram and explained why she and other medical professionals think it’s a bad move. She talked about it in her reel, and also gave the same information in her long caption.
A Long Explanation
The former The Little Couple star explained:
Newborns are the most vulnerable. If we delay the first vaccine or make it optional based only on a mother’s test result, babies can be left unprotected during a critical window. Hepatitis B doesn’t just come from parents — it can be passed by caregivers or family members who may not even know they’re infected.
Next, Dr.Arnold mentioned that “Skipping or reducing doses isn’t fully studied.” So, that makes it impractical to rely on antibody levels. If you don’t know, the vaccination protected your children for a very long time. Jen talked about how it helps children not have to deal with some really bad conditions.
They include:
- Chronic liver disease, and
- Liver cancer.
So, she urged her followers to go along with the advice of their doctors, and it seems that many of them also feel a bit shocked about the decision.
Fans React To The Advice
It seems that many reality TV fans agree with Dr. Jen Arnold that it seems a bit odd to change the vaccination recommendations. One follower assured her, “We agree totally with you. Happy Holidays to you and yours.”
Here are a few more reactions from the discussion:
