If there’s anything that fans have learned about Maurice these last few years, it’s that he’s very passionate about his work off screen. Of course, we are talking about his YouTube series, State of Mind.
However, it’s safe to say that Maurice has also failed miserably with his show (well, that’s just based on some of his critics and their opinions). Because it’s been about four years since State of Mind made its debut yet Maurice hasn’t managed to get the show syndicated yet.
Also, Maurice has been toying with the idea of an early retirement. But does he really want to leave the daytime television world behind? That’s what his fans really want to know.
During an episode of State of Mind in 2022, Maurice suggested that he might be ready to leave the canvas sooner rather than later. In fact, it seems like retirement is on his mind more than anything else.
After all, it’s not like he doesn’t deserve his retirement and a good vacation. He’s earned both. Plus, he’s been on the show for so long that some fans out there think that it’s time to take the soap to a new direction that doesn’t involve Sonny being the biggest mob boss in Port Charles.
“I’m really happy right now. If you know me, you know how happy I am on General Hospital. Up and down, up and down,” he said.

The actor also added, “Soon enough, I’ll be done with it. Sorry. I hate to say that, but it’s the truth.”
Of course, Maurice himself hasn’t made any comments about his next steps. But when he does, everyone is going to hear about it for sure.
