General Hospital Maurice Benard Spars With Son, Joshua In Boxing Ring

Joshua Benard appears on General Hospital from time to time, and he and his dad, Maurice Benard, seem to have other close connections as well. Sometimes, the real-life Sonny Corinthos talks about how supportive his son is with his mental health. Plus, they box together. Recently, they sparred together again, and GH fans love to see it.

Still Boxing With Joshua

It’s been eight years since Bryan Craig (ex-Morgan Corinthos) shared some videos of him boxing with Maurice. That was when he prepped for a movie. And still, in 2025, Mo loves getting in the ring! On Instagram, around about the time of this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards, he and Joshua Benard hit the gym again.

In his caption, Maurice Benard wrote, “Me and my son @jjbenard playing around at @brickhouseboxingclub I love Boxing. nothing better at 62. It’s not as easy as it was when I was young.”

Notably, his son certainly didn’t give him any leeway because he’s a grandpa. And in the reel, the older actor said that Joshua “hits like a mule.” In the past, the GH star talked about Joshua and how they enjoy boxing together. And, it’s not the first time that he shared reels of them training in the boxing ring.
