The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Victor And Jack Team Up Again – Cane Can’t Defeat The Titans
The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) doesn’t consider Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) his equal, by any means. So, why would the head of Newman Enterprises contemplate aligning with his longtime nemesis?
Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) is the answer to the above question. His return to Genoa City, Wisconsin, followed the mysterious invitations the elite members of this famous town received. But the murder and mayhem that followed at his villa in the south of France created the potential for radically altered alliances.
Viewers saw that Cane gathered his small team and gave the go-ahead order. The plan to use an artificial intelligence tool to take control of GC’s legacy companies will begin shortly.
Flashing Back To Nick Newman’s Underground
Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) founded The Underground, which soon became a hot night spot. He, along with his son, Noah Newman (played by Robert Adamson at that point in the plot), ran the club together. The reference to Noah is apt, considering the coming debut of the recast, Lucas Adams.
But dark times soon arrived with a roof collapse, causing many to be trapped, including Victor and Jack. They worked together during that crisis and then spent an Odd Couple period in the hospital together, with reference to the classic play, movie, and situation comedies, especially the 1970s version, which featured Tony Randall (Felix Unger) and Jack Klugman (Oscar Madison).
So, Victor and Jack wouldn’t be pairing for the first time. Devoted fans also recall that Jack decided not to pursue vengeance against Victor after the Marco Annicelli (Bergman in a dual role) doppelganger switch.
That led to an extended truce between the combatants that only ended when Victor blamed Jack for his reckless use of drugs while he was trying to shock Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) out of her latest fall off the wagon.

Cane Ashby’s Plan Is Hard To Understand
Viewers understand that the writing staff has taken a topical issue, artificial intelligence, and injected it into the script. Of course, artificial is an inaccurate term because the intelligence is derived from the work of human beings, like those in this Midwestern town, and then used. Sorry, machines.
This plot was intensely stretched, with the volume of scenes spent in the maze and on Cane’s train cars in France feeling endless. It all led to three people dying, including two important characters.
Since moving back home, Cane has vacillated between wanting to please his deceased father’s goal of redemption through the acquisition of power and reconciling with Lily Winters (Christel Khalil). The competing forces must come to a head with one or the other winning, hopefully, rather than continuing the focus reversals.
Victor Newman Does What’s Necessary
Victor can stomach Jack if that means he defeats Cane. The AI tool that Arabesque developed is a threat, which is why Victor has been trying to stay a few steps ahead of the man formerly known as Aristotle Dumas.
Jack has received information in drips and drabs about Cane’s intended attacks. Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) reveal of Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) misguided efforts helped get Jack up to speed.
So, while Jack knows much less than Victor, he can serve as a perceived temporary ally. However, fans know that Victor told himself he plans to bring Cane and Jack down in one fell swoop.
