The Young And The Restless Michael Mealor On Kyle’s Belief He Can Win Back Claire – But Will He?

The Young and the Restless spoilers suggest that Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) and Kyle Abbott have hit a crossroads in their romance, and all arrows are pointing to the fact that the relationship is about to collapse.

The character’s portrayer, Michael Mealor, recently spoke with Soap Opera Digest (SOD) on how Kyle ‘absolutely’ believes he can win Claire’s heart back. But will he?

The Status Of Kylaire

The Young and the Restless spoilers hint that Claire has recently seen a different side to Kyle, and she doesn’t like it one bit.

From learning about the kiss, he shared with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) in Nice, which entails the lies he told not only about the lip lock itself, but the plans he had to expose the brunette – Claire has felt betrayed.

Add in the fact that he hid the “deal” with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), and she feels she can no longer trust her boyfriend. To boot, Kyle’s jealousy has also been a major red flag for Claire recently, where Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) is concerned.

With that said, Mealor told SOD that Kyle still thinks his romance with Claire is salvageable. In fact, he states, “Absolutely – There’s no doubt in his mind. Kyle just believes he needs to find the right words.”

Mealor adds, “… but I think that’s part of what he’s thinking. ‘If I can just say the right thing in the right order, it’ll all be okay. She’ll see it, she’ll understand it, and we can just go back to the way things were before.’ And you know, unfortunately, that’s not how life works. But he does wholeheartedly believe that he can fix all of this.”

Michael Mealor Believes In Kyle

Whether Kyle can come up with the right things to say or do to keep Claire remains questionable, but Mealor himself loves the Kylaire pairing. He tells SOD that “Claire steers Kyle in the right direction with every single thing. She calls him on all of his stupidity, and I think that he appreciates that.”

He notes, “You know, he has kind of the history of the rough hand and the hotheadedness, quick with the tongue, and all the romances and that kind of stuff.” He goes on to say, “… she has this pure love that’s inside of her, and this light that just kind of shines through, and I think together, they make a beautiful couple.”
