The Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers: Was Casting Rebecca Budig in an Existing Role a Mistake?

Talk about the miscast of the century, right? Well, that’s what a lot of The Bold and the Beautiful fans are probably thinking to themselves when it comes to actress Rebecca Budig.

Should Rebecca Budig Have Played A Brand New Character?

She came on the show to play Taylor Hayes, which has been a controversy in itself. That’s because so many fans believed that Rebecca simply didn’t have what it takes to play the world-renowned psychiatrist.

Not only that, but Rebecca looks like she could easily be Steffy Forrester’s sister and not her mom.

That’s why viewers of the show say that Rebecca should have come on as a brand new character or even new love interest for Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) but sadly, that didn’t happen at all.

Of course, B&B fans sure did have a lot to say about the matter on social media.

Some even commented with, “She should have been brought in as a new character. Sadly, being miscast as Taylor she was set to fail from the start.”

What’s Next For Rebecca Budig?

Another critic wrote, “Agree, she could have been a new character that ridge was interested in. She looks like she’d be a more age-appropriate love interest for her own son or even Carter (who I am assuming is meant to be in his 40s).”

And then there was this comment as well: “It actually would have been cool to bring her on as Greenlee Smyth, her character on All My Children. She’s was great in that role and it was a fun sassy character! Would have been good for Ridge to have someone who challenges him.”
