Robert Irwin & Family Donate After Witney Carson’s Sad Baby News
Robert Irwin, a competitor on Dancing with the Stars, along with former Mirrorball Trophy winner Bindi, and his mom, Terri, all donated to a GoFundMe shared by pro-dancer Witney Carson. Read on for more details about what happened.
‘Crikey! It’s the Irwins’ Family Step Up
Robert, Bindi, and their mom all know the pain of loss. Remember, Steve Irwin, AKA The Crocodile Hunter, passed away when Robert was a little boy. He died after being stung by a short-tail stingray on the Great Barrier Reef. So, they dug into their wallets when they heard about Dancing with the Stars pro Whitney Carson’s family tragedy.
The news that Whitney’s family suffered a loss arrived on her Instagram Stories this week. In it, she shared a photo of a baby and relayed the sad news that the child passed away. Her caption said:
My relatives just lost their sweet baby boy full term. My heart is shattered for them. They’re now facing unexpected cost of the funeral and hospital bills. If you could pray for them and donate to help ease this financial burden as they experience an unbearable loss.
The post on GoFundMe revealed that Robert Irwin donated, he, along with Bindi Irwin and Terri were among the top donors.
The Donations
Parade cited Whitney’s relative, Taylor Southard as saying on the fundraiser, “Broken. Shattered. Forever changed. Our boy, Westley Brent Southard. Pure perfection. Everything was perfect, you were just rolling in my tummy that morning, to find out your heart wasn’t beating that night.”
The family from the Australian Zoo were not the top donors. Someone anonymous donated $1,000. However, between the three of them, they handed over $1,500 which came from $500 each.
Others were also generous and caring. The message from the DWTS pro so far generated $10,052 from 154 donations. The target is $13K, so that means 77 percent of it has already been fulfilled.
Whitney Is Robert’s Dance Partner
In Season 34 of Dancing with the Stars, Robert Irwin’s professional partner is Witney Carson. Irwin and Carson met ten years ago when Robert’s sister, Bindi, was a contestant.
Currently, the pair rehearse together and share their time together online. One amusing reel showed Robert teaching Witney on some common Australian slang phrases. However, things stop being funny when tragedy strikes.
It seems that everybody loves Robert Irwin, a man with a mission like his dad to protect the world’s wildlife. So, although it rose out of a tragic event, his generosity and caring nature no doubt only increases that popularity in 2025.
