Erin Bates from Bringing Up Bates, formerly on UPTV, fell critically ill soon after the birth of baby Henry, her 7th child. Fortunately, despite a scary time for the large family she has recovered well enough to be released from the hospital.

The News Arrived On Social Media

For weeks, fans of the Christian family, who believe in giving birth to as many children as they possibly can, prayed and worried as Erin was treated for sepsis after a UTI infection. At one stage, she was sent to another hospital. Much of the news came via Erin’s husband, Chad Paine.

This weekend, good news arrived on Instagram when Erin wrote:

After almost three weeks in the hospital, I have never been so thankful to finally head home to our babies. We don’t have all the answers yet, and I still don’t have function in my right leg, but we are choosing to count every blessing—especially the gift of being together again. Your prayers have carried us through and mean the world to our family. ❤️

The former reality TV stars shared a photo of her sitting in a wheelchair. Erin Bates cradled baby Henry, and Chad Paine stood behind her, smiling. If you don’t know, some of her health conditions included a severe seizure, weakness, semi-consciousness, and the inability to use her right leg.

Previous updates about the Bringing Up Bates star included the fact that diagnoses happened, but then another complication rose, and another.

Fans React:

In the comments section of the post, over 3K comments arrived. Many people love the family, and they still miss seeing them on UPtv. One follower wrote, “I gasped when I saw you!! This makes me so excited to see you upright and going home!!”

Actually, many people prayed for the third child of Kelly Jo and Gil Bates, so plenty of other comments arrived in the discussion area. Here are some of them:

  • Thankful you both are home with all your sweet babies.
  • Praise God!! I hope you have the best 1st night back home. God is good. He already has you all.
  • Most beautiful thing I’ve seen today!

Previous Health Issues

Back in 2021, Erin underwent surgery for ruptured cysts in her ovary. At the time, it was feared that she might not have any more kids. While some people criticized her desire to have at least 10 children, she still managed to welcome two more kids since then.

Are you happy to hear that Erin Bates made it home? She’s still not fully recovered, but for now at least she seems to be much improved. Let us know in the comments below, and remember to come back here for all your Bringing Up Bates cast news and updates.
