True Crime: Emmanuel Haro Kidnapping Case Update

In a recent true crime case, Rebecca Haro claimed her son, 7-month-old Emmanuel Haro, was kidnapped while she changed his diaper on Yucaipa Boulevard in California on August 14, 2025. Now, some updates have arrived, and the child has still not been found. Read on for new developments in the case.
The Mother Is Lo Longer Cooperating
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department has stepped up the investigation into the alleged kidnapping. In their report on YouTube this week, E! News reported that the police won’t “rule out foul play.” That happened after “inconsistencies were found in Rebecca’s testimony.” Apparently, she won’t talk to them anymore.

Things got bad for Rebecca and her husband, Jake, as they were allegedly getting death threats. There were extensive interviews with various family members, and the sheriff’s specialized investigations division has taken over the case. It seems that the story of being hit over the head while unconscious and having her son kidnapped might be wearing a bit thin.
More Disturbing Updates
Meanwhile, the New York Times reported that the dad of Emmanuel Haro, Jake, has a “disturbing rap sheet.” Allegedly, he has a prior felony conviction for child cruelty. But his lawyer maintained that the past incident isn’t related to his son’s disappearance.

Unsubstantiated news from True Crime commentator, @jonathanleerichesinvestigates, alleged that Rebecca and Jake are the “two prime susects,” and that they “fled their home.” Of course, that doesn’t indicate an admission of guilt, and they could have simply fled the hate in their community.
The Public Fear Emmanuel Came To A Bad End
Ever since the first news about the kidnapping arrived, the public expressed some skepticism, and some folks claimed they felt it was an obviously made-up story by Rebecca Haro. Although the investigation isn’t complete, they remain more convinced that little Emmanuel came to a bad end.
In the comments of the E! News video, one viewer said, “I’m sick to my stomach. I think we’re all thinking the same thing though.”
Here are a few more reactions:
- How desperate are you to stay with a man convicted previously of child abuse? And now the baby is “missing”?
- How convenient the car park didnt have cameras. How convenient her partner has a history of abuse. No tears, Chris Watts all over again. When will these horror stories end?
- I think he beat the baby and the baby died. The mom knows, but he is threatening her not to tell. That bruise on her eye is probably from him.
Of course, nobody is guilty until a court declares otherwise. For now, the couple should be assumed to be innocent. But if you are into true crime and you come across anything relevant to the case, it would help to step up and notify the police.
