Gordon Ramsay Describes Embarrassing Baby Birth Incident

Gordon Ramsay might be Mr. Tough Nut in the kitchen, but when it comes to babies and giving birth, it turns out that he’s quite the wimp. In fact, he managed to embarrass himself badly. Read on to find out what happened

The ‘Uncharted’ Host Talked Babies

The news about the most embarrassing moment came when Ramsay appeared on the SmartLess podcast recently, and the chat turned to birthing babies. He and his wife, Tana, disagree when it comes to his presence in the delivery room.

If you don’t know, they have six children. Megan, 26, Jack Scott and Holly (twins), 25, Matilda AKA Tilly, 23,  Oscar James, 6, and  Jesse James, 2. Until the birth of Oscar, (Tana’s fifth baby counting the twins), he explained to Sean Hayes, Tana wouldn’t let him watch the proceedings.

Embarrassing Moment For Gordon

Relating how he felt so small, Ramsay mentioned that Tana always said that she didn’t want him there because she didn’t want him to “f—–g see me in that state.” Additionally, she knows her husband well, and claimed he’d probably not deal with it very well. 

However, she finally relented, and he got to sit in on Tana’s C-section birth when Oscar arrived. It was a successful delivery following a miscarriage in 2016 after Tilly’s birth. But it all went wrong for him. The famous, snarky chef said, in part:

When I did finally arrive in the theater for our fifth baby I… collapsed like a wimp and I… blacked out holding Oscar in the air. Yes, I was… holding the baby.

Elaborating, Gordon explained that he just couldn’t deal with the blood. He added, “I saw two more doctors dive in. I looked on the floor and there was blood everywhere and all of a sudden, God, they popped him out and then they came straight over to me.”

Continuing the tale, the star from MasterChef went on to say, “I [said] whoa, whoa, whoa.” However, they gave him Oscar anyway, and he said, “I sat back and then I collapsed like a f——g idiot.”

Fans React In The Comments

The chat on the podcast covered a range of cooking stories and anecdotes by the host of Hell’s Kitchen. So, many diverse comments arrived. However, none of them were specifically about the birth. Nevertheless, it seems that listeners loved the podcast.

One of them wrote, “Love Gordon Ramsay! My son worked on a Super Bowl commercial with him…and he said Gordon Ramsay was the kindest, nicest and funnest!”
