General Hospital’s Daniel Goddard Talks Being “Grateful”, On The Cusp A Returning Y&R Cane Ashby

General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest that Daniel Goddard’s Professor Henry Dalton character on the ABC soap is creating major waves in storylines. He entered the land of Port Charles as the mysterious PCU prof this past April, and many are buzzing about his arc. The actor recently posted a video on Instagram talking about how grateful he is to be on the GH set, but was he also tipping his hat off a bit to his former employer?

Daniel Goddard’s Soapy History

Goddard played Cane Ashby on The Young and the Restless (Y&R) from 2007 to 2019, and when he departed the show, it was apparently a mutual decision. Fast forward to March of this year, and news hit that Days of Our Lives star, Billy Flynn, was entering the land of Genoa City.

It’s clear he’ll be playing Aristotle Dumas; however, everyone knows that Dumas is a mere alias for someone “real,” and speculation has been heavy that the shocker will be that Dumas is really Cane Ashby.

Flynn is set to return this Friday, June 20, so it’s interesting to see Goddard’s post, which was uploaded on Tuesday, June 17 – mere days from a possible Cane return.

Goddard’s IG Post

Goddard’s post took place on the GH set. He notes in the IG video that as he sat there, awaiting to film his next scene on the popular ABC daytime drama, he realized just how grateful and lucky he is.

Fans could hear Craig McManus, GH director, in the background, alerting the actors/actresses on set and doing the countdown, as Goddard stated a number of times about how grateful he is.

His IG caption read, “On set at #gh and overflowing with gratitude for the opportunity that @generalhospitalabc has given me. Thank you @fvalentinigh for letting me become part of this historic show. Thank you to @markteschner for believing in me…”

He also added, “ … and thank you to all of the fans, cast and crew who have welcomed me with open arms, and shown me nothing but love… I do this for you and you have no idea how much it means to me.”

In addition, he added the following hashtags: #abc, #gh, #dalton, #cbs, #yr, #cane, #daytimetv
