General Hospital Alum Chad Duell Gives Rory Gibson “Grace” As New Michael Corinthos

General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest that Michael Corinthos had an explosive return to Port Charles in May after coming back from the Baden-Baden burn recovery in Germany.

From regaining full custody of his children to having a new baby with Sasha Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) NuMichael, Rory Gibson, has been on his game.

Fans have happily accepted him into the fold, and now the former Michael, Chad Duell, recently gave him his blessing. More on this, below.

Chad Duell’s IG Live

Duell hopped on Instagram Live on Thursday, June 26 and offered fans a bit of an update. He further explained why he stepped away from the role of Michael after 15 years.

A bit of it had to do with becoming a father and losing his own father; however, he also stated that even though he wasn’t sure how long he needed, he wanted to give the production team a heads up and not wait to do so.

He also added that he felt both mentally and physically drained. Duell also told fans on the IG Live about his health struggles, saying he began to feel physically and mentally drained.

He noted that he couldn’t get himself going, revealing that he’d wake up feeling tired and just drag himself to work. He didn’t know what was wrong, and he finally got tested and figured out the issue, which is a personal one.

Duell also addressed Rory Gibson stepping into his old GH role. The actor stated (via SoapOperaNews.net), “I wanted to give a little bit of grace to the new person stepping in.”

He added, “I didn’t want it to be all about me. I just wanted it to be a smooth transition, and it worked out so well, with him … so I’ve heard.”

In some interesting news, when asked about what’s next for Duell’s career, he remained hush-hush, but did hint he has “some things” in pre-production currently. He told fans he’d reveal more when the projects get “fully moving”.
