Days Of Our Lives’ AnnaLynne McCord Reveals The Co-Star Who Inspired Cat Greene’s “Quirkiness”

AnnaLynne McCord

Days of Our Lives spoilers state that after the shock wore off when Cat Greene revealed she was Cat Greene – and not Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller), fans have come to learn that she’s not really a deceitful villainess, but rather a quirky and fun-loving person.

Who can viewers thank for this element in the Cat Greene character?

Feuerriegel Was An Inspiration

McCord recently spoke with Soap Opera Digest (SOD) and talked about how one of her Days co-stars helped offer some key insights into how to bring Cat Greene “to life”.

Believe it or not, it was Dan Feuerriegel, who plays EJ DiMera.

She notes, “I got some advice from Dan, who I love — we call him Dan Fury, because none of us want to mess up his last name.” She goes on to say, “When I was first on the show, he said, ‘Listen, you decide what you want for your character, and you go fully into it.

And when the writers see the trajectory you’re taking, they have a tendency to move with you and play with you.’ ”

Dan Feuerriegel,

McCord states she took this advice and ran with it. Throughout her entire career, she’s played villains, so she wanted to have fun with the Cat character.

As such, she states that she began playing Cat with “… Goldie Hawn and the Lucille Ball [style of performing], not making the obvious decision or choice on a character, because I can’t just do one-note.”

She also reveals she added some “fun AnnaLynne energy” and then threw in some quirkiness.

McCord Asks For Forgiveness

Cat is a really interesting character, and while many Days fans are loving the genuineness they now see in her as she settles into Salem life, this wasn’t always the case. Many viewers hate how Cat pretended to be Abigail DiMera, breaking Chad DiMera’s (Billy Flynn) heart in the process.

Still, Cat didn’t really have a choice, since Clyde Weston (James Read) was blackmailing her.

With that said, Chad has forgiven her, so will Days audiences do the same? McCord offers a heartfelt plea during her SOD interview, noting, “Forgive me, DAYS fans! The beloved Abigail, I did her memory no justice, but hopefully, Cat’s making up for it with her quirks.”

  1. Anna Anderson says

Good chemistry, Gabi/JJ, Alex/Stephanie and Johnny and Chanel. No chemistry whatsoever with Cat and Chad and forced acting with young Doug Williams and Holly. Time to wrap up the Kiriakis storyline. And please, get someone with wardrobe sense and hair fashion. Especially Sarah, she looks horrible in everything and she talks like a child. Very annoying!!
