When Claire first appeared, she was covertly collaborating with Jordan (Colleen Zenk) to execute a scheme against the Newmans. This plan had the potential to endanger several family members’ lives, but Claire managed to seek assistance and rise above her dark history.

Sadly, it appears that Y&R has taken Claire’s redemption arc too far. She now lacks depth, transforming into an excessively sweet character who comes off as naïve and emotionally immature.

In the April 22 episode, Claire’s ‘good girl’ persona felt almost ridiculous as she enthusiastically talked about puppies and the moon in an attempt to convince Kyle of her love for him. She was like a teenager with her first crush, and in turbo infatuation mode, coming off as gushing over him!

Teenage Style Romance Between Two Adults?

The romance between Kyle and Claire feels more suited for a teenage storyline-it would be more appropriate if they were having these conversations by their lockers during school breaks! Nevertheless, the show has a great chance to accelerate Claire’s maturity and possibly bring back her rebellious side.

If Claire seeks revenge after her love life takes a downturn, it could add some fascinating depth to her character. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) has enlisted Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) to sabotage Claire and Kyle’s chances of a happy ending. Audra plans to place Kyle in a compromising situation to show Claire that he is untrustworthy.

Kyle And Audra Could Really Give Into Temptation If Her Plan Goes Too Far

Kyle and Audra might find themselves giving in to temptation if Audra’s scheme escalates; meanwhile, Claire could be swayed by Audra’s manipulations and turn against Kyle. Even if Claire sees through Audra’s lies, her anger towards Victor for meddling could lead to a significant change in her demeanor.

This shift could allow Claire to shed her overly sweet persona and reclaim her edge, making her a more compelling character-it seems Claire is ripe for  transformation and a fresh storyline.
