The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Amelia Heinle’s Fear of Being Fired!

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Amelia Heinle has become a firm fan favorite after playing legacy character Victoria Newman for two decades. Over that time Victoria has had a ton of juicy storylines, a million romances, and enough joy and heartache to fill several wheelbarrows.

So it may surprise you to learn that Heinle had her doubts about staying on the number one rated daytime drama. Here’s the inside scoop on her once upon a time acting anxiety!

Amelia Heinle Plays Victoria Newman

Heinle auditioned for her role in 2005. She had been on Loving and All My Children and if hired would replace Heather Tom (Katie Logan, The Bold and the Beautiful).

Heinle told Soaps.com that she didn’t expect to be playing Victor Newman (Eric

Braeden) and Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) daughter for very long.
She said “They’re totally going to fire me, and it’s going to be so embarrassing” is what she told herself.

Victoria Newman Is a Strong Legacy Character

Heine has been superb in the role but remembers that initially she “didn’t think I was going to get the part, then I did. It was a little bit overwhelming, being a recast. I knew she was loved, so there was this added pressure of, ‘Wow, I better be good.’”

The rest, as they say, is history.

Amelia Heine Loves Her Y&R Role

Heinle had initial three-year contracts on Loving and AMC. After each stint she says her philosophy was “Well, I had a great time, but it’s time to move on.”

That wasn’t the case with The Young and the Restless, where it was a case of the third time’s the charm.
She said “After my first three years, I realized, ‘Wait, I really like it here and don’t ever want to leave.’”

Twenty years later Victoria is a vital part of the Genoa City landscape. She has reunited with the baby stolen at birth from her, Claire Newman (Hayley Erin), and is continuing the legacy of NE.
