Akinyi Obala In Post-Birth Health Scare, Gets A Biopsy
Akinyi Obala and her husband Benjamin Taylor, from 90 Day Fiance, struggled to conceive, so her delight when it happened knew no bounds. Finally, she welcomed her little girl, Rue, but the bad news is that recently, she required hospitalization, and a biopsy was done.
The Health Scare
The news that the TLC star ran into a problem that needed serious attention was shared by TV Season Spoilers on March 22, 2025. The outlet spotted some photos on social media, and it seemed sad because she couldn’t breast feed her child.

Citing the reality TV star, the outlet noted that an Instagram Story showed a scene of Ben with the baby. One of the pictures had a text overlay that said, “They had to perform a biopsy on my breast.” It’s not the first time that Akinyi spoke about problems with her breasts.
Problems With Feeding
Baby Rue arrived safely in February 2025, and fans heard from the couple that all was well. They also did a vlog on YouTube which you can see further down in this article. Since then, Akinyi shared on Instagram on March 4, that she struggled to breastfeed little Rue.

It seemed that the TLC star who was pregnant at the same time as Annie Suwan, tried home remedies before seeking medical attention. In her caption, the Kenyan said, “I am severely engorged on my right and I have been using cold cabbage leaves but still engorged and it’s starting to hurt now.”
Fans Offered Advice
Alarmingly, Akinyi Obala also said, “My boob is the size of an orange and it’s hard like a rock! Please help!! Next stop is the hospital if I can’t get any relief from home remedies.”
Plenty of people gave Benjamin’s wife advice. And some of them told her cabbage wouldn’t help. One follower wrote, “Express it yourself. Work the nipple not the boob. Warm shower and milk yourself. I actually had to learn to do this when my bestie was still breastfeeding.”
Anny Francisco, who also welcomes a baby recently told her colleague, “do masaje (sic) and get milk out.” Then, another follower suggested, “You can attend a local LA Leche League meeting and you will get plenty of useful information. They are usually held at a library near you.”
It’s not clear how long it took the reality TV star to decide that home remedies didn’t work for her. It seemed that she struggled with mastitis. Hopefully, the biopsy doesn’t turn up anything worse. The Physician Guide to Breastfeeding noted:
When a breastfeeding mother has a suspicious mass or other concerning finding, she will first be recommended to undergo biopsy.
Additionally, doctors might look “for any cancer elsewhere in their body.“
As no more news arrived, we can’t update you on the outcome of the biopsy just yet. However, check back with us often for all your 90 Day Fiance cast news and updates.
