The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Victor Was Right About Love – Chelsea’s Greenlight Is A Go

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) believed Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) should try to reconcile. The head of the Newman clan’s instincts have quickly been proven right.

Adam was resistant to his dad’s idea. But that initial feeling dissipated the more he considered the impact living together as a family at the old ranch house would have on their son.

Chelsea rejected the idea. She didn’t want to give Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) false hope. She also didn’t want to lead Adam on.

Victor Newman Knows About Second Chances

Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) has forgiven Victor countless times. Their fights and makeups became the staple of this enduring soap opera since the 1980s.

Victor knows that second chances are real and can lead to reconciliation. He didn’t want Adam to be with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope). So, her break from him created an opening that Victor wants his youngest son to capitalize on and he’s done that.

Of course, Victor believes that he’s given Nikki second chances. In his mind, she wronged him for illogical reasons. The truth is that most of their breakups involved Victor’s romantic indiscretions and spending too much time at Newman Enterprises.

Chelsea Lawson Didn’t Expect This Outcome

Chelsea hasn’t felt any love for Adam in recent years. She cares about him and will always be bound by the children they’ve had together, which includes their first son, Riley Newman (Malachi Barton), who died before birth.

But Egan’s character was badly burned by Adam on repeated occasions. Like father, like son. Chelsea is her generation’s edition of Nikki.

Yet, living with Adam and Connor under one roof served to stoke many memories quickly; she was honest, telling him that some of her recollections were bad. But her dominant thoughts involved the love and good times they shared.

Adam Newman Needs Yesterday Once More

The Carpenters were hot when Y&R debuted in 1973. One of their many hit songs was Yesterday Once More, which could be the background music that accompanies scenes of Adam and Chelsea in the living room of the home where they’re once again living.

The sister and brother act were phenomenal, with Karen Carpenter’s dulcet tones still resonating all these years later. The song that her brother, Richard, and his co-writer, John Bettis, created encapsulates what Adam and Chelsea are trying to recapture.

But they need to go beyond yesterday and create a today that is devoid of the type of dysfunction that drove them apart. Here’s hoping they can do so because it would be compelling for the audience and within the world of Genoa City, Wisconsin, and would help Connor, too.
