General Hospital Spoilers report Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) murder is pushing Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamproga) to the brink.
With the investigation taking unexpected turns, the family is waiting with bated breath to see if Dante can keep his sanity intact or if he’ll be consumed by the darkness of revenge.
Initially, this wasn’t a game of Gotcha! Dante was just trucking along assuming Sam died from some kind of fluke. He never imagined she was murdered.
Now, wrapping his head around that has proved to be rather difficult, and he feels called to do something about it.
Unfortunately, Police Commissioner Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) has decided that Dante’s personal involvement in Sam’s case might cloud his judgment.
She has effectively iced him out of the PCPD’s official investigation, leaving Dante on the sidelines with nothing but his sorrow and frustration.
Anna believes this move will protect the integrity of the investigation, but she might not have considered the storm she’s brewing within Dante, who now feels both betrayed and sidelined by the very department he’s devoted his life to.
Dante knows that he can’t bring Sam back by solving the mystery of who killed her, but he really needed the distraction that the investigation into her murder would have supplied him with.
In other words, he’s not coping very well with learning how to move on with his life in her absence. He was hoping throwing himself into the investigation would consume him instead of letting his grief do that.
Dante’s been trying to balance his joy at Lulu Spencer’s (Alexa Havins) recovery with the sorrow of losing Sam, all while grappling with his role as a detective in a town where personal and professional lines blur incessantly.
It sounds like he and Lulu might need an icebreaker to get them past this elephant in the room.
Ever the Detective
Dante wasn’t pleased with Anna’s insistence that he sidestep the investigation, and we have a sneaking suspicion that he may not honor her wishes.
Finding a way to still unearth the dirty details on what the police commissioner and her crew are digging up, will Dante go rogue?
Might he band together with Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) and Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) — maybe bringing Lulu along for the ride — to figure out whodunnit and serve up his own idea of justice?
If that’s the case, Cyrus Renault’s (Jeff Kober) days are numbered, but Dante’s could be, too. Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers just ahead.
