General Hospital Spoilers: No Chemistry Between Carly & NuBrennan? Maybe That’s The Point …

General Hospital (GH) spoilers indicate that fans are on the fence when it comes to the Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) recast. The actor is doing an amazing job, picking up storylines from where Charles Mesure left off; however, many GH viewers feel as if the chemistry isn’t there between Brennan and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) anymore. But maybe that’s the point.

Was The CarJack Romance A Slow Burn For A Reason?

As audiences know, the Carly/Brennan romance has been a slow burn. Port Charles’ couples generally move a tad faster than the WSB agent and the former mob boss’s wife have.

After all, these two have been flirting up a storm for months now, only to have shared nothing more than a kiss only weeks ago. Many fans have questioned why CarJack hasn’t done the deed yet. Is it because they were never meant to?

Brennan Has Been Using Carly

GH spoilers suggest that Brennan has been using Carly. While he may have feelings for her now, this wasn’t his original intent. He also seems very preoccupied with getting Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) to become a WSB Agent.

Was that the plan all along? Hard to say, but fans will likely learn soon enough. The entire point is, if Brennan’s been using Carly this whole time, and the two are gearing up for a split (although they don’t really have a relationship, to begin with), perhaps GH went with a recast that didn’t have chemistry to lessen the blow of Brennan turning into a dud.

Mesure’s version of Brennan was handsome, charming, and the sparks were there – while McKenna’s version is handsome, with a little less charm, but more “WSB agent-esque” qualities, and not too many sparks. Perhaps Carly moving on from Brennan after she finds out the truth will be a little easier for fans to swallow in order for her to move on to another romantic interest.
