The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Half & Half Stars Valarie Pettiford and Telma Hopkins Reunite For GC Mystery
The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that a front burner plot is about to get hotter with the addition of Telma Hopkins as Detective Denise Tolliver. It’s been three years since we last saw her, and she’s back to lend a hand to Amy Lewis (Valarie Pettiford).
Amy has enlisted Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) to help her find her son, and his half-brother, Damian. For some fans, seeing the two actresses onscreen together will be de ja vue all over again as they were on the sitcom Half & Half together.

Will we be seeing more of Amy now that the investigation is under way? Pettiford told Soaps.com that she is on board with a long-term role on the ABC sudser.
“Good God, yes. Good God, yes” the One Life to Live alum said when asked about staying on in GC. She added “I’m going to be very honest with you, I never thought I would do a soap again. I just didn’t think it was ever going to be in the cards for me.
I had no idea what I was walking into and then I get here and it is so delicious — the character, the writing, the cast, the crew.”
Y&R spoilers: Will Amy Lewis Stay in GC?
As for an extended presence, Amy will have to find a miracle cure since she’s dying of cancer. Or so she’s told Nate.
Not everyone believes her, and his boo Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) has been sus of Amy from the start. Still, if Amy need a cure, Nate being a doctor should work in her favor.
For now Pettiford is enjoying working with Hopkins again. “I just look into her eyes” she said “It just makes all the difference in the world because you don’t have to work.” Hopkins and Pettiford starred on the UPN show from 2002 to 2006.

Her current Y&R gig is the also the second time that Pettiford has worked with Bryton James (Devon Winters). They both appeared on the sitcom Family Matters in 2021.
She said that coming to the CBS soap made her “a little nervous. Everything is so fast in soaps now. It just makes it easier when you have someone that you feel safe with. There’s a comfort level that I don’t have to work for. We’re just ready.”
