The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers document that Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) blames Hope Logan (Annika Noelle). But Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) didn’t consult her when creating the manager ploy.
Ridge is still in shock. Rather than accept that his perceived friend pulled one over on him and has seized legal power, he’s rationalizing. That means it has to be Hope’s fault.
Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) is more on the mark. She recognizes that Carter has allowed himself to be emboldened by Hope’s so-called love for him. She correctly linked what Hope did with Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) and her husband, John Finn Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) to her suddenly realized relationship with Carter.
Eric Forrester (John McCook) is conveniently forgetting something important. He didn’t want his wife by the time Carter and Quinn Fuller (Rena Sofer) were together. Plus, there was the lovely Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis).
As devoted fans clearly recall, Eric became disillusioned with Quinn during the period when he was diagnosed with ED. That led to him believing Quinn should pursue other men, which was while they were married.
She was deeply hurt by Eric’s stance but eventually agreed to do what he wanted. Eric was arguably not betrayed by Quinn or Carter, and he wanted to be with Donna as that storyline played out.
So, telling Carter that he shouldn’t have forgiven him and should have fired him during that point in the plot is revisionist history to the hilt.
Ridge is using Hope as a scapegoat. She didn’t concoct the plan to take over Forrester Creations. That is Carter’s idea, followed by his pitch to turn the family business into a conglomerate. But Eric, Ridge, and Steffy rejected it on multiple occasions.
Believing that Carter has had his head turned is an accurate read. That is the one point Ridge is right about. But when he’s had time to cool off, Ridge should see that Carter isn’t all wrong.
Steffy, in particular, cut Hope for the Future based on seeing Hope fall into Finn’s lap. That’s not business; it’s personal, as Carter says, and that dysfunction is hamstringing FC.
Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) can’t imagine that Ridge stood before her and spoke strongly against Hope to her face. It was likely the uglies tongue-lashing Ridge had ever given to Brooke’s daughter.
Carter is right when saying that Ridge and Steffy shouldn’t be talking to Hope like that. But they are enraged because they have signed away control of their family business.
That embarrassment is why they are mad. Their egos are bruised.
Well, Brooke’s shaking because the love of her life is showing contempt for Hope. That shakes Bridge’s foundation and overrides any business matters in her mind. Ridge must realize what he’s done to Brooke, but he will soon.
