Maddie Brown Brush is expecting her fourth baby, and she and Caleb seem to be careful with their money, but is that because her dad, Kody Brown was so poor before the Sister Wives show premiered? The TLC star went into some detail about her family life on a recent podcast.

Sister Wives fans know that when Ysabel Brown suffered from her scoliosis, she lived with a painful back brace for years. At the time, many TLC fans assumed that her dad, Kody Brown wanted to try and fix it naturally without surgical intervention. But more likely, their family medical insurance didn’t stretch that far. 

Maddie Brown Brush didn’t talk about how her father struggled to pay for Paedon Brown’s accident damage when he was learning to drive. But, those who followed the news presumed it hurt his father’s picket badly. But by then, the show was already on TLC. How much harder it must have been before the show started? According to Maddie, her dad was poor.  

Maddie Brown Brush Talks Hard Times 

On this week’s The Authentic Podcast with Jayme, which you can watch further down in this article, Jayme discussed how Maddie’s family wasn’t wealthy before the show. In fact, according to Maddie, they were actually “poor.” Not because her dad didn’t work, but because Kody Brown had “fifteen” mouths to feed in those days. 

Maddie Brown Brush confirmed for her Sister Wives followers that her dad was a “salesman.” That story has been around for a long time. He only earned about “$4000” per month back then. So, he started his guns and accessories business. These days, he is still seen at occasional gun shows. But, she claimed that her dad tried to get rich quickly. She said, “My dad always chased a get-rich-quick scheme, almost always.”

TLC Fans React To Poor Kody Brown

Maddie Brown Brush also mentioned how when “tax return” time came, every penny was quickly spent. And, they only occasionally had medical “insurance.” Of course, TLC fans discussed that, as they know that Robyn Brown seems to be a bit of a shop-a-holic.

• And Robin spent the money. But they were treated different. Robin lived in a million dollar house while Janelle lived in a trailer.
• I believe Meri and Janelle supported the family, while Christine took care of the kids and household.
• I don’t understand why he keeps saying they’re lying about how he was treating them different from Robin I believe it they was getting treated different.
