On X, previously known as Twitter, Herring posted a touching photo of Northrop holding the reins of a horse. She wrote, “Wayne has always been the Man of my Dreams, and now he will forever be the Man in my Dreams.

No one faces loss alone, and your love and kindness support Hank, Grady, and me on this journey-a special thank you to our @GeneralHospital and @DaysPeacock family.” Hank and Grady are the couple’s sons, who married in 1981.

Many expressed condolences, with GH alum Ian Buchanan (Duke) simply sharing several heart emojis and Brooklyn Rae Silzer, (Emma Scorpio-Drake) added a heartfelt message: “Sending all my love to you.”

Thaao Penghlis, known for his role in DAYS, shared a beautiful photo of orange roses with the message, “What a guy; God bless you and your family, Lynn.” Michele Val Jean, a soap writer and creator of the new show Beyond the Gates, expressed her sorrow over Northrop’s death by posting a heart next to a broken heart.

Tonja Walker, a former General Hospital actress, empathized with Herring’s grief, as she lost her husband Edward Davidson to pancreatic cancer in 2018.

She reached out to Herring, saying, “Lynn, I’m so sorry you’ve joined this difficult journey with me. It’s awful and frightening, and it can drive you a bit crazy.
