General Hospital Spoilers: Kristen Vaganos Explains The Real Reason Behind Molly & TJ’s Break-Up

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that fans were shocked during the week of December 2-6 when Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) and TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) broke up their domestic partnership and ended their long-time romance.

It’s hard to believe that the two are going their separate ways, considering the couple has been together since they were teenagers. Actress Kristen Vaganos recently revealed the real reason behind the super couple’s break up.

GH Spoilers: The Breakup Was Shocking To Fans

GH spoilers remind fans that Molly and TJ have been through a lot and always managed to pull through; however, viewers could see the couple ripping at the seams after they agreed to allow Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) to be their surrogate. It seemed like the beginning of the end of their romance.

Vaganos recently told Soap Opera Digest (SOD) that as Molly just dived into work to escape the pain of losing Baby Irene after Kristina’s accident, TJ wanted the couple to “sit in” their grief, which was simply too painful for her character.

Vaganos adds that Molly, having to sit and look at her domestic partner in the aftermath of their loss was just a harsh reminder of what they’ll never get back.

On top of all of that, the fact that TJ suggested trying again for a baby; Molly knew that at this point, she didn’t have it in her, which contributed to the breakup.

Vaganos goes on to tell SOD that she and Bellow did all they could to ensure they gave their characters the justice they deserved for the breakup.

After all, Molly and TJ had been together since 2012, and even though different actors were in their respective roles, Vaganos and Bellow wanted the emotion to spill over onto daytime screens – and boy did they deliver!

Still, Vaganos notes that she and Tajh were, “… ugly-crying snot all over the place the whole time! It was just heartbreaking, but it really was a culmination of such a long storyline that we’ve had going on for a year now.”

In the land of soaps, no super couple is ever completely done, and there’s always a chance TJ and Molly could reunite down the road. Fans will have to wait and see what happens if the two are really “done” and if they’ll explore other romantic venues.
