TLC’s Anthony Vanelli Sentenced For 2023 Stabbing

Unexpected alum Anthony Vanelli was the baby daddy of Malayah, the daughter of Rilah Ferrer. The TLC alum had more than one run-in with the law and now he’s been sentenced for a stabbing carried out in 2023. 

Unexpected Alum Anthony Vanelli Was Aggressive With Rilah

Rilah Ferrer and her baby daddy first appeared on Season 3 of the TLC show. In 2019, he seemed very aggressive with Rilah and she reported him for domestic violence. Then in 2021, he was accused of using a weapon to shoot up his stepfather’s house. At the time, it was alleged that the Unexpected alum used a relative’s car without permission. However, those charges were dropped. 

Unexpected fans were glad to hear that Rilah Ferrer kept her daughter, Malayah away from Anthony Vanelli. Overall, he sounded like bad news, Other TLC alums had also fallen foul of the law, but they seemed to try and turn their lives around. 

Anthony Vanelli Stabbed His Mom’s  Boyfriend 

This week, Starcasm reported that the stabbing happened when he rocked up at his mom, Rebecca’s home. Her boyfriend was home, and so were other kids. The outlet cited the police report as saying, in part:

Anthony [and the boiyfriend] got into a verbal argument over Anthony walking around the house holding a knife while the children were inside. Anthony then stabbed [him] in the back…multiple times, sustaining puncture wounds to his chest and back. [The boyfriend went to the] garage where his girlfriend’s two daughters were doing hair, and…the two girls immediately began to render aid.

Arrested and charged with “aggravated battery and resisting an officer without violence,” Anthony Vanelli appeared in court for sentencing on Tuesday. But, time was credited for those days he already served behind bars. So, the TLC alum was released under a form of house arrest. He will need to attend only certain locations in his community, for two years and attend an “in-patient treatment program.”

TLC Fans React To Punishment

When TLC fans heard about the punishment of just 16 months for the multiple stabbings. they were outraged. Here are some of their reactions on Instagram to Anthony Vanelli’s sentence:

• Only 16 months?!?! For stabbing someone?
• Only 16 months? He was probably protecting his mom she wasn’t all there in the head and she always picked horrible men from what I remember.
• Wow. Law system is crazy in there. Poor people.
• doesn’t sound like someone who’s safe to be walking around in society.
