The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Melissa Ordway Clears Up Confusion Over Her Work Status

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers divulge that recently Melissa Ordway (Abby Winters) shared the news with fans that she is off contract on the CBS soap.

She was doing a question-and-answer session on Instagram when she spilled the tea and naturally the internet blew up.

We can tell you that Ordway has now posted a video to Instagram video explaining the situation in more detail with the goal of erasing any misunderstandings.

Ordway stated off saying that she had no idea her reveal would blow up the way it did. She went on to say that while she’s no longer under contract, she remains a part of the cast.

In other words, we will continue to see Abby Newman Winters on our screens.
She said “It is true. I am no longer on contract, but I’m still on Young and the Restless. I’m still playing Abby. It’s just in a different capacity.”

The beautiful and talented actress went on to say that she has a wish list for her character who just married Devon Winters (Bryton James). What would she like to see happen in the future?

How about Abby and Devon growing their family? Ordway thinks it would be great for the couple to give Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor (River Ware) some siblings.

Ordway shared: “I hope that Abby and Devon have an amazing love story with Dominic and more babies. I hope that I am there as much as I possibly can be. I hope that they continue to write for Abby. I hope and pray for all of that.”

Dominic was born after a surrogate came through for the couple. Abby was not able to carry a child to term, but soaps love to rewrite history so it’s possible that Dabby could have a miracle baby on their own.

Ordway would love to see her character’s little family grow, but that’s no guarantee that they would be seen regularly: look what happened to Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks). These two had a baby, Aria, but now we see the family less than ever.
As for Devon and Abby, they are headed to Fiji for their honeymoon and hopefully fans will see plenty of scenes with the family once they return.
