Talk of Heather having another love interest isn’t known to be true. But Chance Chancellor’s (Conner Floyd) speculation reminds fans that she had a love interest in Europe after breaking up with Daniel.

There are various plausible ways that Sharon can be innocent. One of them would be to reveal another character as the killer.
Of course, Sharon would still be guilty of having broken into Daniel and Heather’s apartment. She also took Heather’s phone and presented herself as a stranger who supposedly found that electronic device.
Sharon’s fantasy world is of her own making. She voluntarily went off her meds and is currently claiming to have gone back on them. Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) questions whether her mother has turned the corner, which sparked Nick to act.

Nick rescued Sharon many times in the past, sometimes saving her from herself. In more modern times, he provided the knife that she used to stab Cameron to death.
Kudos to Y&R’s prop department for the dead man costume Cameron wears. Props to Ashby as well for providing a tour de force performance and reviving the edgy chemistry he and Case are playing to the hilt.
The audience senses that Nick is moving closer to becoming the person who determines what Sharon did, assuming she did it. But if she is innocent, he could be the one to help vindicate her. In either instance, she needs his help and is open to it at this point in the plot.
