General Hospital Spoilers: Diane’s Hands are Tied as Sonny’s Alibi Crumbles — and It Could Spell the End of Her and Robert

General Hospital spoilers report Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) has never hesitated to accept a compliment on her legal eagle skills. Time and time again, she has gotten Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) off of the most horrific charges — and he’s usually guilty of them, whether she knows it or not.

This time around, he’s clearly in the wrong. He and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) only made matters worse by lying and saying they were hooking up at the time of John ‘Jagger’ Cates’ (Adam Harrington) murder when they weren’t.

To make matters worse, they haven’t done a very good job at appearing as though they’re back together — both of them spending much more time with other people than one another.

It’s not a wonder that Diane has no idea how to pull any more magic out of her lawyer’s hat for them, but the distress she feels over not being able to finesse these charges away won’t be helped by the glee Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) clearly feels that Sonny’s time finally seems to be up.

General Hospital Spoilers — Diane is Fresh Out of Ideas

Sonny has always relied on Diane to pull a new punch anytime he gets himself into a pinch, but this time around is different. To be fair, she did try to warn him and Carly that they weren’t doing enough to sell the idea of them being a couple again.

One tense dinner out was hardly good marketing for a relationship that few already believed was possible — not after the way Sonny treated Carly and how happy she has been moving on with her life without him. But Diane may be just as upset about her inability to help Sonny as he is. Will she find support for her feelings?

GH Spoilers Claim Robert Jumps for Joy

When it comes to the law, Diane and Robert largely operate on opposite sides of it. While neither of them are breaking the law, Diane defends criminals and Robert kind of can’t stand it.

That comes into focus even more when she’s defending Sonny. Robert has long thought Sonny belonged behind bars, and he hates the way Diane defers to touting innocent until proven guilty with him. So when it seems like there is a slam dunk case against Sonny, Robert will be delighted.

General Hospital Spoilers — Is This Holly’s Way Back In?

If Diane and Robert start to clash on this front, it’s only a matter of time before she feels she has to speak her mind on how crass he is about Sonny — who isn’t just her client but is a dear friend.

We haven’t seen much of this couple until just recently — and just in time for Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) to come back into the picture and possibly enter as Diane and Robert drift apart having faced a disagreement over Sonny’s presumed guilt. It wouldn’t be the first time.
