General Hospital spoilers reveal Police Commissioner Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) isn’t just seeing this case through because of her duty to the people of Port Charles.

She knows she played a major role in letting Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) get away with Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) in tow.

While she never could have seen the recent developments with Lulu Falconeri (Alexa Havins) coming, she feels responsible. Bringing Valentin home — no matter what the cost to him — would resolve those feelings in one way or another.

But can she manage to protect the man she still loves while getting Charlotte back to her family and ailing mother? Rumor has it she won’t be able to do it alone.

Anna is going to try desperately to course correct. She feels immense guilt for having played such a strategic role in letting Valentin get away with Charlotte.

Looking back, she knows she should have let him go down with his ship, but she compromised her morals and her work ethic by letting her feelings for him get in the way of her doing her job to the letter of the law.

It wouldn’t be the first time she’s bent the rules for a man she couldn’t resist. But Anna wants to be better than that at this stage in her life and in her career.

Still, chasing leads won’t get her anywhere as she searches high and low for wherever she thinks Valentin may have gone.

GH Spoilers Hint Anna Asks for Jason’s Help

Pulling Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) in to help her bring Charlotte home isn’t exactly what most people would think Anna’s next move would be as police commissioner.

But who else can she trust if she can’t tell them the whole truth about how Valentin got away? Jason already knows. We can trust that he may need to rely on some external sources, like Damien Spinelli (Bradford Anderson).

That means looping more people into the mix and unearthing Anna’s breach in police code. Will Spinelli keep his lips zipped?

Although she may think Jason and Spinelli can help her pull this off and get Charlotte home to be with her family during a potentially devastating time when they could lose her mother — Lulu — she’s got another thing coming.

The storyline keeps coming back to WSB Agent Jack Brennan’s (Charles Mesure) interest in working with Jason. Could this be their first job together that forces Jason’s hand as Anna pulls Jack in to help track Charlotte down?
