General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) appeared truly distressed about having kept the secret of Sasha Corbin’s (Sofia Mattsson) paternity secret for so long.

However, Holly’s actions are rarely selfless; there must be ulterior motives behind revealing Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) is Sasha’s father, and certainly unrelated to Sasha’s connection with Cody Bell (Josh Kelly)!

General Hospital Spoilers: Why Now?

Sasha and Cody have shared a close bond for quite some time, and Holly has always been in the loop, which begs many questions-why now? So why would she suddenly intervene to disrupt their relationship with such a shocking revelation; if Holly genuinely was worried she was dating her cousin she should have come clean much earlier.

It seems likely that Holly chose this moment to disclose the truth because she might be in a precarious situation or involved in a risky scheme.

She may want to ensure that Sasha is aware of her father’s presence to support her if anything were to happen to Holly-although it’s odd she didn’t rescue her before.

She had plenty of chances to help her daughter in the past couple of years, but then Holly was in trouble herself at least one of those times!

GH Spoilers: Holly Wants Out Of Town Fast, Knowing Sidwell’s After Her

Holly’s playing dumb, but she has to know Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) would come after her looking for the diamonds she stole from him-even if he was presumed dead.

Holly’s decision to approach Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) for assistance in selling the stolen diamonds highlights her urgent desire to escape.

She’s ready to give Sonny a significant portion of the profits just to secure some quick cash and make her getaway.

Is it merely a coincidence that Carlo Sidwell (Carlo Rota) was seen in Florida around the same time Holly is looking to unload these large, unregistered diamonds? It might be, but given Holly’s track record, it’s likely not just a chance occurrence; she probably somehow got some information that Sidwell survived the drone strike!

General Hospital Spoilers: Holly Knows Robert Can And Will Protect Sasha

If Holly is fleeing from Sidwell or someone else she fears could harm her, it’s completely understandable that she would tell Sasha that Robert is her father.

This could be a precautionary measure in case she finds herself trapped in whatever scheme she’s involved in, although she never protected her daughter before.

Holly knows that Robert can keep Sasha safe, regardless of whether he is her biological father-but then again, so would Cody and Mac Scorpio (John J. York)!

It was a clever move for Robert and Sasha to have the paternity test conducted at the WSB lab rather than a hospital, as Holly is certainly capable of manipulating the results.

In a twisted sense, what she’s doing to link Robert and Sasha is quite a maternal instinct, although it could turn out in the end the results were changed!
