Days Of Our Lives spoilers reveal that if anyone knows about supercouples, it would be Mary Beth Evans (Kayla Johnson) has been half of one since the 1980s. Every soap had one back then but Days Of Our lives had several. Mary Beth Evans and Stephen Nichols (Steve Johnson) were and still are, Steve and Kayla .

Soap SuperCouples Were The Rage

Days of Our Lives Spoilers indicate that John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall). Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) and Hope Williams (Kristian Alfonso) were just a few. However, recently Mary Beth opened up about the disappointing decline of the soap supercouple. Mary Beth admits that she finds this disappointing.

Soap Supercouple were daytime icons. Supercouples transcend the drama of the every day soap and go above and beyond for each other. They are the hallmarks of the genre. Soap supercouples are literally the heart of a soap opera. Viewers were invested in the lives and the loves of these couples and watched daily to follow their journey.

DOOL Spoilers: Mary Beth Evans Dishes On The Decline

Mary Beth knows all about Supercouples, she has been a part of one for almost four decades. Mary Beth and Stephen joined that show about the same time in 1986. Of course, Steve was Bo’s former friend who fell for his sister. Steve and Kayla has their struggles but got married for the first time in 1988.

Fans still love this couple today. Of course, Bo and Hope are on the way back as well. These to have saved each other too many times to count. However this last time almost killed Bo as hs son, Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) ended up shooting him. Mary Beth recently chatted on Swooon saying, “Unlike today’s coupledom, we were put together from day one and it’s always been about us. There were things that broke us up, but they always loved each other. They never didn’t love each other, and that’s not how it is at all today.”

Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Stephen Nichols Chimes In

Stephen Nichols joined Evans as he long time screen partner and had a few things to say about supercouples himself. Nichols says that Steve and Kayla are very different than soap couples today. “We’re a couple who have always loved one another. And when we were not together, when we were apart, it was always because something happened.”

Steve and Kayla, as Evans says, are one of the last remaining soap couples. Of course, John and Marlena were there until Drake Hogestyn’s untimely passing recently. Bo and Hope are on the way back soon according to spoilers. Unfortunately, couples like this are truly becoming a thing of the past and that is sad for those of us who grew up following our favs.
