Is ‘OutDaughtered’ Star Adam Busby Faking It?

OutDaughtered changed and Adam Busby, who once complained about the way TLC portrayed him is now also producing the show. As he seems to never do anything right, and Danielle Busby seems set to be the next most toxic wife since Kate Gosselin, is it all fakery? Read on to find out what fans are saying. 

Adam Busby Stabbed Danielle In The Heart?

Like Kody Brown from Sister Wives, Danielle Busby likened her relationship with her partner to being “stabbed.” Only, it was her heart that was stabbed and not her kidney. That came after Adam talked about playing “good cop” with the kids because he wanted their affection which seemed sadly lacking from Danielle. 

Adam Busby and Danielle clashed because she made out he was such a useless father, that they needed to get in a nanny. But he objected. Nevertheless, what TLC fans see on social media differs vastly from what they see on OutDaughtered. So, some TLC fans call the couple out for faking it for television. 

OutDaughtered Is Fake?

It isn’t the first time since the return from an extended hiatus that TLC fans wondered about fakery. But in 2024, fans seem convinced that they are watching a show that is far from the truth. On Monday this week, u/PyramidQueen said on Reddit:

I’m struggling to watch Adam…I’m having a hard time watching this show. Is Adam really as useless as he’s portrayed, or is it all just editing? Everything from never taking responsibility, only doing fun things with the kids, to selfish career choices. I’m over it. I feel like it is The same storyline every season…

Other OutDaughtered viewers chimed in about Danielle and Adam Busby. Actually, they seem to think that TLC shows very little these days that represents the real family dynamic.

Here are some examples of those people who tire of the obvious fakery in the show, and the way Adam Busby seems to buy into it:

• I think it’s a lot of editing. At least from what we can see on their vlogs through YouTube and Instagram, Adam is nearly always with the girls, getting them fed, ready for school, taking them to activities, doing homework, etc. They do have nannies too, but it seems he’s a lot more involved than Danielle is and definitely more so than the show portrays.
• …more likely the show is totally fake. I don’t even think, editing-I am going with completely (sic) fake…
• Probably scripted. Stopped watching a long time ago. Don’t miss it.
• I’m sure he’s utterly incompetent, but the show paints it as more of a problem than it is. IRL, they have multiple nannies.
