General Hospital spoilers leak Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) knows her days as a has-been attorney are numbered, and she’s loving every minute of it.
With only a few continuing education credits to get out of the way before she reapplies for the bar, she’s ready to seize the day and re-enter the field of law.
There’s just one thing that will soon be hanging over her head: Heather Webber’s (Alley Mills) pending legal battle. Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) presented a fabulous case before the board that won Alexis back the right to practice law, and she couldn’t be more grateful. But it may not look that way to Diane soon.
Diane was taken aback when she learned her bestie, Alexis, was looking into Heather’s case and trying to help Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis) determine whether there was any legal standing to challenge the previous ruling and seek a new one due to Heather having been under the influence of cobalt poisoning at the time of her crimes.
Any inkling of Heather being able to get back out into the real world is enough to terrify Diane, and she couldn’t believe that Laura sought Alexis’ help — or that Alexis obliged.
She’s not even an attorney anymore, after all. Still, Alexis hammered home that it was Diane and her landmark case fighting for Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) that may have sealed Heather’s fate in a direction Diane doesn’t want to see it go.
Alexis is aspiring to become Diane’s partner at law. These two gal pals would make a formidable legal team in Port Chuck and everyone knows it.
But Heather’s case could put a crimp in their plans that at least one of them doesn’t see coming right now. Currently, Alexis has every intention of fulfilling that dream team plan and joining forces with Diane.
But when Laura gets wind of Alexis being able to practice law again, a new offer may be on the table.
When Laura asks Alexis to act as the attorney who helps her navigate the myriad of issues Heather will be up against, it’s going to be harder for Alexis to turn down than some might think. She wants to be back in action, and what better way to make a new name for herself than come back with a bang by winning such a landmark case — all using a precedent set by Diane?
Of course, it might become a major conflict of interest for her to represent Heather’s interests if she is Diane’s — one of Heather’s victim — law partner.
Will she push pause on that plan to pursue this goal instead? Will she lose her best friend in the process if she does? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
