General Hospital spoilers hint Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) didn’t waste time when she got back to Port Charles before heading over to the gallery to have words with her former sister-in-law, Ava Jerome (Maura West).
She needed Ava to know she knew the truth, and she wanted answers for why she went out of her way to ruin her career. Of course, it’s unlikely that Ava and Alexis will ever see eye to eye on this issue.
Ava believes Alexis committed perjury and therefore tanked her own career as an attorney; Alexis believes Ava’s tattling was the real catalyst for that life-changing event.
Either way, their conversation didn’t leave Alexis with any resolution. If she doesn’t succeed in getting her license to practice law back, we have to wonder whether she’ll blame Ava forever — and whether she’ll try to do something about it to get even.
Alexis is patiently awaiting news from the board as to whether she will ever be able to call herself an attorney at law again. She’s prepared for the worst and barely hoping for the best — telling herself this is a long shot and the case is likely already lost.
She thought that going in, but no amount of anxiety and logic could’ve prepared her for Fergus Byrne’s (Lane Davies) assault on her character and repeated lamenting of her involvement in both of his brothers’ deaths.
If she gets the news that the board has decided against her plea for reinstatement to the bar, she may blame Fergus, but not nearly as much as she’s likely to blame Ava. Will Alexis be able to handle her taste for revenge, or will it lead her to a taste for booze again as a means of coping?
The reality is that Ava pulled the trigger in this situation. If anyone should understand Alexis’ position right now, it’s Sonny. He too rarely sees the error of his ways.
Even when he breaks the law or wrongs someone, he doesn’t hold himself accountable. Rather, he blames the person who rats him out.
Of course, Sonny’s feelings of betrayal are rooted in loyalty, whereas Alexis can’t expect that Ava would feel any such way about her.
Regardless, as these two women continue to spar, Sonny is likely to stay out of it. He won’t position himself between his daughter’s mother and his other daughter’s mother.
No sweat. Ava’s got this. She doesn’t need Sonny on her side to make a case for herself. She already believes she’s got this in the bag. Alexis really did commit perjury.
There is no way to paint this picture differently. Although Ava did go out of her way to make sure the right people knew about Alexis’ transgression, she didn’t owe Alexis anything.
Of course, that doesn’t mean Alexis can’t find clever ways to make Ava’s life more uncomfortable. Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to see how this transpires.
