Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers indicate that while fans and Theresa Donovan (Emily O’Brien) know that Konstantin Meleounis is no good, he’s got a good chunk of Salem fooled.
Actor John Kapelos recently talked to Soap Opera Digest (SOD) about his vile character and the inspiration behind Konstantin’s accent and mannerisms.

Days spoilers note that there are not many similarities between John and Konstantin, in fact, some fans may be shocked to find out that while Kapelos is of Greek descent, he does not have an accent.
John told SOD that Konstantin’s demeanor and accent are a combination of many Greek family members he had around him while growing up.
Still, Konstantin’s “manner” is modeled after an Athenian that his father knew; someone very free and erudite with his opinions.
Kapelos notes that he was a lovely man; however, he did pontificate quite a bit, and John also adds that his dad was the “teacher type”, as well.

While Kapelos is a newcomer to the land of daytime drama, he’s a veteran actor who’s had a long list of appearances in both movies and primetime television.
From The Breakfast Club to Sixteen Candles, as well as series like CSI, Miami Vice, CSI, and One Tree Hill (just to name a few), John has done his fair share of characters over the years.
He tells SOD that it was “fun” to allow his accent to blossom, and he did have a small stint in the flick, The Shape of Water, where he played an Armenian man; however, this character had a slightly different accent.
Still, Kapelos tells SOD that the challenging part of doing an accent is that you can’t make it too thick, so the audience doesn’t understand what the character is saying.
As his Greek accent came with the role, many fans can agree that Kapelos is nailing it as the Greek man everyone loves to hate in Salem.
John states that not everyone on the DOOL set was aware that his Greek accent was fake, so some were taken aback when he broke it during one rehearsal.
