Wood’s maternity leave resulted in Steffy leaving Finn for an extended vacation that was shot around and included prerecorded scenes. That effort allowed Steffy to be sporadically seen on-screen while Wood was temporarily away from the cast.

The actor’s recent birth, her fourth child, resulted in another maternity leave and created the scenario where Steffy felt compelled to leave LA because of Sheila being freed from jail.

So, Steffy is in Europe indefinitely. But that is not preventing her from maintaining regular contact with Finn or texting Hope about the pillow that she wanted forwarded to her.

Hope and Finn are tied by their families which goes beyond the referenced children. Her father and his biological mother have become a public couple, as Finn was stunned to learn at Il Giardino.

Finn’s talk with Hope happened before Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) sprung the reveal on him later that day. Hope was taken aback by Finn’s forwardness, openly telling her that he thinks Thomas is Mr. Wrong.

Thomas is not pursuing Hope in this storyline, with Noelle’s character first kissing him in Rome, Italy, and then advancing their relationship since they returned to California.

Deacon told Finn that he and Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) are in love. Finn’s consternation resulted in his potential stepfather making a promise that appears impossible to keep based on Sheila’s long soapy history.

Finn thought it was a joke that Deacon believed he could keep Sheila in line because he has a black belt. Novlan’s character and others that will follow are sure to recognize that Deacon is intoxicated by his feelings for Sheila.
