Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Li Shin’s Been Taking A Nosedive

Li’s been taking a nosedive since being outsmarted by Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) even though he thought he had her figured out. It’s been a rough few months for the ex DiMera employee after being at the top of his game for so long. Even his father has distanced himself, and in a Chinese family, that means disgrace; Wei Shin (Clyde Kusatsu) and Li haven’t spoken in months.

It’s been one thing after another for Li after the Megan DiMera (Miranda Wilson) debacle, and though he tried to move on, he’s still not over Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus). Li is feeling isolated and alone and depressed, and it took a lot of courage for him to set up appointments with Marlena.

DOOL Spoilers: Marlena Evans Is Concerned About Li Shin’s Instability

Marlena is concerned about Li’s instability, it’s seeming he’s headed for a breakdown; he flies off the handle easily and then is embarrassed by his lack of control. His moods and actions are very erratic, and previously he was a very organized man with a mission, although at times his missions weren’t legal. Now it’s like he’s floundering around, and doesn’t have a path ahead of him instead of being a man with a mission, it’s more like a man with a missed turn. Marlena has to wonder if Li has previously undiagnosed bipolar disorder-she mentions she’d like to get his blood tested for hormonal imbalances and thinks he should get some other screenings.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Buried Anger Can Manifest As Depression

Marlena encourages Li to express his emotions because buried anger can manifest as depression, and resentment buried can manifest in ulcers and other stress-related disorders. She tells him to start keeping a journal and write out his frustrations, and finds out in his family emotions were to be buried, hurts not be discussed. It’s a very unhealthy way of living and pride doesn’t help one live a happy life, tradition or not; Li says his father is very old fashioned.

Marlena finds out that Li and Wendy Shin (Victoria Grace) lost their mother when she was a baby, and even though Li was a tween at the time, it impacted him. Li has seldom dated and never married, and the loss of his relationship with Gabi with no romantic prospects left him without a mooring-because of a mother lost.
