The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) is set to be shocked. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will block her attempt to make Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) her co-Chief Executive Officer and instead retake the reigns and lessen his firstborn’s power.

Victoria was among a group of top executives summoned to the Ranch recently. She was told, as were all others, except Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), that change was coming to Newman Enterprises.

Victor delivers on his promise by stepping back into the big chair in the main C-suite at Newman Towers.

The iconic oil-based portrait that hung above the mantel was replaced. Initially, the painting Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi and Robert Newman) purchased for his wife replaced Victor’s ego-tripped likeness.

But Ashland’s fall into madness resulted in Victor and Nikki commissioning a replacement image of Victoria that has since adorned her executive office.

Of course, Victor never officially stepped down from power at the company he co-founded and still heads. He has kept his fingers on the levers of power, while also regularly reminding Victoria who the real boss is.

So, will Victor have his portrait rehung or have his hung aside Victoria’s?

There is no pleasing the ever-shifting Moustache. He has a singular vision that is based on his fluid view of what success resembles.

Sometimes Victor institutes change, then reverses course for no logical reason. A recent exhibition of that behavior is reinforced through the whirlwind that is Newman Media.

However, Victor has given each of his children, especially Victoria and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), extra leeway in recent months. But loosening the strings caused both characters to make decisions Victor considered to be unwise and so he overrode them.

Victoria has come and gone from the family business dating back to when she looked like Heather Tom (the original SORAS’d, soap opera rapid aging syndrome edition of Victoria.

At this point in her life and career, Victoria does not need to deal with her father’s reactionary personality. She previously demanded that he make her CEO, or she would leave. He accepted, with this change being the first time he had fully lowered her power level.

But Victor has merely halved Victoria’s status. She still retains the CEO title, albeit with an unwanted equal being her father on Y&R.
