The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) methodically reclaimed power at the company he founded.

As Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) should recall, her father issued warnings this summer about his misgivings regarding how Newman Enterprises was running.

Then, after summoning his top executives, including Victoria, to the Ranch for a meeting, Victor said that changes were going to be made. Again, he did not act on impulse or within a matter of hours, days, or even weeks.

Victor’s decades of experience in building and maintaining his global conglomerate created a template in his mind. Victoria still does not recognize that her father is in charge and that he calls the shots, no matter her strong performance as his chosen Chief Executive Officer.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Not Demoted, Just Collaborating

Victoria often accuses her youngest brother of being an ungrateful brat, if not in those exact terms. Yet, her behavior in recent months and after Victor announced he was returning to the big chair made Victoria look childish.

Victor is not demoting Victoria. If that were the case, she would become his Chief Operating Officer or hold a title lesser than that.

Instead, Victor said she will continue to make the day-to-day decisions with an adjusted title as his co-Chief Executive Officer. He took a demotion in feeling compelled to step back into the fabled office where long worked.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Family Politics Are Always Messy

Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) did not fight or complain. She agreed to her husband’s decision and will head Newman Media.

Victoria did not first cite her mother as having taken a demotion, though anyone could argue that is what happened. Instead, Heinle’s character is considering what is best for her and not the family business.

The above is what bothers Victor. He needs the person who heads Newman Enterprises to solely look out for the business and to shelve one’s ego. Of course, that means he is asking Victoria to do what he rarely did.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Victoria Newman Has A Good Point

More than one point can be true simultaneously. Yes, Victoria is being selfish, and she has allowed her relationship with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) to impact her business judgment.

But the concerns she raised about her father’s health potentially being negatively impacted are legitimate. Victor sees himself as a young fighter in the ring. But he is in the latter years of what was a great career, and while still sharp is only human on Y&R.
