New Information On When DOOL Scab Writers Appear
There is new information on when the Days of Our Lives (DOOL) scab writers will appear. The show has been hit with more than just a writers’ strike lately.
Production was also halted after the show’s executive producer and director Albert Alarr was investigated for misconduct. The show resumed production after August 7, and Alarr was removed from his position.
DOOL Scab Writers
A new report came out about the Days Of Our Lives scab writers. A user took to the SoapCentral.com Message Boards to share an update on when viewers can expect these episodes to stream on Peacock.
The longtime-running soap wants to start fresh for the new year.
That means new episodes involving the scab writers won’t air until after Christmas Day or around early 2024. Ronald David Carlivati is the header writer on Days of Our Lives.
He was previously known for his head writing for the ABC daytime soaps General Hospital and One Life to Live. Later this year, he will wrap up his position as head writer and the scab writers will step in.
DOOL fans are curious to see if the storylines will change. They’re currently bored with the love triangles on the show.
They felt that the passion is lacking, even though the soap is on the streaming service where anything can go. Unfortunately, that hasn’t helped bring the passion to daytime.
“It will be interesting to see how dool episodes by scab writers will look,” one fan wrote. “It will be interesting to see how a different HW goes with the show,” another noted.
Days Of Our Lives Loses Head Writer
It’s unclear how long Days of Our Lives will use scab writers. At the time of this writing, the writers’ strike is still ongoing as an agreement hasn’t been made.
The strike could last into next year if studios refuse to reach an agreement with screenwriters. In the meantime, viewers found this new information interesting.
They hope that it will positively change the show. Meanwhile, others are concerned about whether the scab writers are familiar with the history of the show and its characters.
“I wonder if Ron leaves a ‘show bible’ with the general direction of all the storylines so the scab writers don’t screw things up too much?” one user asked.
“I remember when scab writers took over for GH during the last strike. Some good things came from it, some were weird, but it wasn’t a complete circus,” another noted.
If the strike is over before the end of the year, the DOOL writing team will get their jobs back, including Ron. It’s only a temporary solution to this problem. The scab writers are involved until the writers’ strike is resolved.
