Stefan has been in conflict with EJ over their family’s company DiMera Enterprises. Stefan had been upset that EJ had conspired with Li Shin (Remington Hoffman) to keep him from being in control of DiMera Enterprises. Stefan decided that he would discredit EJ at the DiMera Enterprises by drugging him. Stefan had been surprised that EJ had figured out his scheme. EJ had turned to his girlfriend Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) to literally give Stefan a taste of his own medicine.
Stefan and EJ had been at war with each other when their sister Megan DiMera (Miranda Wilson) came to Salem. Megan had plans to take over DiMera Enterprises. Megan conspired with Li to get Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) to brainwash Harris Michaels (Steve Burton) to kill Stefan.
Megan did not count on EJ and Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) to find out about her plan. EJ had tried to stop Megan from trying to kill Stefan but she got the upper hand on him and took him hostage with Kristen. Stefan has found out that EJ had tried to keep Megan from attempting to kill him. Stefan wants to find a way to get past his differences with EJ.
