Leo knows that Gwen is a desirable woman. However, Dimitri is a con man and has been for years. Leo dealt with Dimitri over the Alamainian Peacock jewels.

Dimitri also used Bill Reed (ex-Lisa Rinna) when he posed as an ISA agent to get to the jewels. Dimitri has never had to work to get what he wanted because he was born into a rich family. However, Dimitri is also very manipulative and he uses his charms to get what he wants from most women that he runs into.

Dimitri needs Gwen or he cannot get access to the Von Leuschner fortune. Dimitri has to be married before he turns forty or he cannot inherit the money. Unfortunately, Dimitri also has to marry for love if he is to get the money. If Leo tells Gwen the truth, she is going to know that it has nothing to do with love at all.

Could Leo and Gwen strike up a deal for her to pretend that she and Dimitri are in love if he gives her a cut of the fortune? After all, Gwen admits that she is broke and this would certainly be an incentive to go along with Dimitri. However, if Megan Dimera (Miranda Wilson) is alive, Dimitri cannot be sure that Megan will follow through.

Leo is truly worried about Gwen putting herself in this situation. Leo loves his friend and doesn’t want her to get hurt. Leo knows that no matter how dangerous Dimitri is, Megan is so much worse. Megan may have set this up but this woman just tried to have her brother killed, what makes anyone think she would not do the same to Gwen or worse?
